Information Collected On The Site
Information collected on the Site comes in two forms:
- Anonymous Information. AMD collects limited non-personally identifying information made available by your browser whenever you visit a website. Such non-personally identifying information includes your Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, your browser type, the time of your visit, the length of your visit, and the pages accessed during your visit. This non-personally identifying information is used to help us operate and improve the Site.
- Personally Identifiable Information. Some areas on the Site allow you to contact AMD to request product or other information or to make a monetary donation. In these areas on the Site, we ask you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information (such as your name, email address, mailing address and phone number) to enable us to respond to your inquiry or request.
Use Of Information
The personally identifiable information you provide us when using the Site (such as your name, email address and mailing address) will be kept confidential and used to respond to your specific inquiry or request. We may share your personally identifiable information with certain third parties engaged by us to perform functions on our behalf. For example, we may use third parties for data storage and customer communications. These third parties are prohibited from using your personally identifiable information for any purpose other than to provide services to us, and they are required to maintain the confidentiality of your information.
AMD will release your personally identifiable information if required to do so by law, and as may be necessary to protect the rights, property or safety of AMD, our customers or others. We may share aggregated, non-personally identifiable information with others to help us operate and improve our Site. For example, we might share with a third party service provider the total number of users that accessed a particular page or feature on the Site during a particular month.
Other Web Sites
AMD is not responsible for the privacy practices of websites linked to or from our Site.
AMD uses appropriate security measures to protect your personally identifiable information against unauthorized access, use or disclosure. Security measures include the use of firewalls and secure data storage facilities.
Policy Towards Children
We are concerned about the safety and privacy of children who use the Internet. Although we encourage children to learn more about our organization, we encourage that this be done with parental supervision. Consistent with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998, we will never knowingly request personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13 without prior verifiable parental consent. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personally identifiable information without verifiable parental consent, we will use our best efforts to remove such information from our files. If a parent or guardian becomes aware that his or her child has provided us with personally identifiable information without verifiable parental consent, he or she should contact us at: contactus@AMD.org
